MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING
WARSAW

The multi-family housing project was designed for Warsaw environment. It comprises 1-5 room flats, stationed over five floor west wing and 3 floor east wing of the building. The ground floor plan consists of a lobby, flats, and service spaces such as shops. Under ground we can find two floors of parking space designed to fit one car per flat, motocycles and bicycles. In addition, there are storage rooms and technical support spaces. In each wing there are open terraces open with access to the park, accessible for every member of the building community. Materials and form of this project are meant to establish a dialogue with the surrounding environment. The wooden roof and limestone on west, east and north elevations create a semi-aggressive form which gives a serious feel to the building. The south elevation, featuring terraces and leisure space is covered with polished, stainless steel which reflects the green park and various plants. This side was designed to welcome people coming back home and give them a cosy feel. The two-winged form of the building was designed to catch as much light as possible and to open the flats to nature.

The housing development connects the old and the new by syncing housing flats, detached houses, public spaces, water features and offices. The arrangement aims to provide the residents with a relaxing, pleasant experience. Each block of flats has a connection to a green space, parking spaces and walkways. The design blends well with the city and facilitates good commuting links with the city centre.
